In April 2021, we bought an old barn in Belgium that we set to renovate. The barn is part of a larger farm that dates back to at least the middle ages. The first reference to the farm was found in transcripts from the late 1200s. Driven by famine, the 13th century is known for given birth to new ways of farming, including the use of a heavier plow, horses, etc. I estimate the photo above to be taken between 1900 and 1950. Our barn is the building on the left, behind the semi-open storage.
