Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, after more than 2.5 years of non-stop work, we have released the first beta of Drupal 7.0.

Drupal 7 is a nicer looking, more powerful, and more scalable Drupal. Plus, it's easier to use than previous versions. It's quite a metamorphosis for designers, developers, and administrators. So, check it out and let us know what you think. While you're at it, you can help us find and fix any remaining bugs.

This also means that we're in the last stages, preparing for the final Drupal 7.0 release. I feel like a kid on Christmas eve. I can hardly wait to unwrap the beta package so let's get it done!

Have several website projects that has been waiting for this day. Now it is time to really kickstart the development.

Thanks for all the great work and service you, Angie and everyone else in the Core team have done to make this day happen.

Makes you wonder if this were the Beta for D8, if we'd be waiting 'til tomorrow! :)

Congrats all! D7 rocks!

Congratulations on the beta release. I am looking forward to implementing this in my existing sites and in new projects. I'm a little frightened for module-heavy sites though since that sector will no doubt be a little behind even with their D7 initiative.

Congratulations! This is great news.

Had a play with D7 beta for an hour or so and have to say it is very nice. Really like the new backend interface. Very well done! Just about to commission a very big Drupal migration and have to decide whether to stick with D6 or be an early adopter of D7.
